What is Açaí (Ah • sigh • EE)?
The açaí berry is a deep purple berry which grows on certain palm trees in South America. Açaí is considered a super food because of its nutritional value.
- Antioxidants: Like other berries, açaí are packed with antioxidants that can help build up your immune system and protect your cells against damage from free radicals.
- Fiber: Full of fiber, açaí berries not only help make your trips to the bathroom more regular, but also help keep you full and your blood sugar steady.
- Heart-Healthy Fats: It might seem like a diet rich in fish, nuts, and avocadosis the only way to get enough omega-3, fatty acids, but açaí berries are also a great source. In fact, açaí berries contain omega-3, 6 and 9 fatty acids. Eating lots of these heart-healthy fats can lower your risk of coronary heart disease and improve your cholesterol.

NOLA AÇAÍ
Born and raised in uptown New Orleans, I have always had a sense of adventure and a love for travel and in 1996 ,after graduating with a chemistry degree, I packed my bags and my jeep and headed West like my grandfather two generations before me.
I spent several years in southern California before moving to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where I fell in love with the people and its culture, and bought a kiosk on the beach in Copacabana. Açaí is a big part of that culture. You can find an açaí shop on every corner. I dreamt of bringing the best and most authentic açaí bowls to New Orleans and now that dream has come true with NOLA AÇAÍ.
